Protips for a Happy Vagina

I'm pretty sure i've posted something along these lines before, but way too many women are completely unaware of how their own anatomy works so, here's to you ladies. Go get a copy of Greys Anatomy or google anatomical vagina and learn some stuff. This is a responce to a poster on another forum asking about how her vagina is supposted to smell. She indicated a sour smell. Here is my responce. Vaginas do have a natural scent to them. If your crotch smells like a dumpster, or the ocean, or the bay at low tide, you've most likely got BV (Bacterial vaginosis) this is NOT an sti/std, it's just an imbalance in the bacterial flora. It can happen for 1 of 1000 reasons. You may need to see the doctor, but there is a product out there called RePhresh (can be found in any target/cvs/walmart/whatever) that is made to deal with BV. Doctors will often put you on antifungals to deal with BV. They'll put you on Antibiotics to deal with yeast infections. You can try...

Those Crazy Vaginas

This is an important, albeit rarely mentioned issue that I hear about between couples. I just hear about it from women. There are so many sex toys and sex related products that can cause women serious problems ! Yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, vaginal discomfort, allergic reactions, chemical burns... You name it. I recently replied to another blog about issues the author had been having at one point and how to remedy them. I'd like to share the information I shared with her to all of you. This will help everyone's sexy parts stay healthy and sexy longer. :) Now, the advice below is assuming anyone with a vagina that is experiencing chronic yeast infections has seen their doctor and ruled out other issues (PH imbalance caused by; diet, STI, hormone changes, drugs, etc). Also, please keep in mind a lot of yeast infections are not actually yeast infections, they can also be bacterial vaginosis. If you're unsure of the symptoms of each, see your doctor :) The main...

Stretching Piercings

I know I already have a post talking about piercings, but I don't go into changing the sizing of those piercings there.  I've been stretching my nipple piercings (you read that right) for a few years now and wanted to talk about the process. Stretching a piercing is the act of enlarging the fistula (piercing path) to be able to wear larger gauge jewelry.  It's a long and involved process that can involve a lot of back-tracking.  There should be little to no actual pain or blood associated with stretching. If you're in serious pain, or bleeding, here's a hint; You're Doing It WRONG . A little bit of stinging is normal. Get your jewelry.  Make sure it's measured and clean.  I clean using dial and warm water. I don't necessarily get my stretching jewelry autoclaved (new piercing jewelry is always autoclaved).  When it comes to stretching, you want a lot of lube.  I recommend oils, since they don't evaporate and generally don't cause allergic r...

Here, have another June update post. I mean, news article.

Additional relevant entries will be landing shortly. I'm updaing everyone to remind them of the 1003 pageview kiriban -- see the entry and rules here . I read a fantastic article in the Washington Post today about the phenomenon known as "Slut Walks." They are a new type of grass roots feminist movement (and I do love me some nice, rational feminists). I'll post the entire article down below because I hate when I find things 4 years later and none of the links work anymore.  All the links located in the original article are here as well.  Please disregard the formatting what-the-fuckery, blogger is not enjoying quoting walls of text that will crit you for over 9000. The full original Washington Post article can be found here . Birth Control and Swinging Part II - The Pill

[[ I'll start this off by saying I'm not a doctor , again, so if you have any questions about your specific sexual or overall health, your health care practitioner would be the person to as ('cause they know stuff about your dangly bits and whatnot) ]] The birth control pill is a chemical method of birth control (and department of redundancy department is redundant). As of right now it is being made for women only.  There are two types of pills available, estrogen and progesterone pills.  They do the same thing in two different ways.  When used correctly, the pill is considered over 99% effective.  They can't say 100% for anything because there is always a chance. The human body is a miraculous thing and weird shit happens all the time.  The pill only protects against pregnancy. It does not protect against any kind of STD or STI. How it works:   Birth control pills inhibit pregnancy in three ways. 1. When taken properly, the pill will keep ...

Bling bling on a ping ping

I love genital piercings! Love, love, love them. And now I want to give out some information on safe genital piercing and all that crap. This post covers basic info about genital piercings and standard piercings. Enjoy. Have the obligatory "I'm not a doctor" rhetoric and all that jazz. Although, doctors tend to be very poor references as far as body piercing goes. There is a lot of negative stigma associated with body piercing and doctors often give out poor advice in regards to healing piercings or dealing with possibly infected piercings. Find a qualified piercer with a brain and a clean studio.  If your piercer has never heard of the word "autoclave" then you should be running away as fast as your little legs will carry you.  An autoclave is an instrument that looks kind of like a 1foot cube steel pressure cooker that can completely sterilize instruments, jewelry and other interesting things. If you fail to see these things, or see something that makes ...

Birth Control and Swinging

I'll start this off by saying I'm not a doctor so if you have any questions about your specific sexual or overall health, your health care practitioner would be the person to as ('cause they know stuff about your dangly bits and whatnot). So, a vast majority of swingers don't swing to get children sired by different fathers. There is a fetish for this, that fetish is not tied to swinging, it is very very separate. Like super extra double deluxe separate.  I believe it has to do with a kind of cuckolding breeding fetish? I don't have that fetish so I can't tell ya. (Do you have that fetish? Tell me about it!) Birth control. There are many many different types. I will go over the pros and cons of each and how they relate to swinging and what they do to your body and protect you from. Read on! " Condoms may not protect from everything, but neither do seat belts - they are just the most practical and effective choice at hand to reasonably minimize ris...

Thinking about swinging? See your doctor.

If you're serious about swinging, or just care about your overall sexual health. The first thing I would suggest is going to your OBGYN (female) or general practitioner (male) and get screened for all the STI/STDs you can think of. If your insurance sucks (like mine) try a free of low-cost clinic (if you're in college your on campus health center will be able to either do the testing for you, or tell you where you can get it done). Planned Parenthood usually offers low cost testing. Most major city and suburb areas have clinics locally. Your doctor (or a good google search) will be able to tell you where you can find a good one. If you're going to a free clinic, be prepared to wait a bit to get seen so give yourself some time. If you have a steady partner, go together, you'll have each other there, and you'll both be able to get your results. I would recommend EVERYTHING, just as a baseline; AIDS/HIV, hepatitis, herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HPV, bacte...
