Article: Subject for Debate: Are Women People?

A friend of mine sent me this article, and like usual i get to sit here and get pissed off about it. At least the media is catching on. Really. I'm female, not inferior. More updates on this later, i've got to get to work. Subject for Debate: Are Women People? I’ve always assumed that women are fully autonomous human citizens—who vote, even!—but now I’m not so certain By Jessica Winter | @winterjessica | March 7, 2012 | Read more: http://ideas.time.com/2012/03/07/subject-for-debate-are-women-people/#ixzz1qKadUKgz All my adult life, I’ve been pretty sure I’m a sentient, even semi-competent human being. I have a job and an apartment; I know how to read and vote; I make regular, mostly autonomous decisions about what to eat for lunch and which cat videos I will watch whilst eating my lunch. But in the past couple of months, certain powerful figures in media and politics have cracked open that certitude. You see, like most women, I was born with the chromosome abnorma...

Just keep digging that hole, Rick.

Just keep digging, just keep digging. There are 18,000 married gay and lesbian couples in California and at least 131,000 nationwide according to the 2010 census, conducted before New York state legalized same-sex marriage in July. Rick Santorum says he'll try to unmarry all of them if he's elected president. Once the U.S. Constitution is amended to prohibit same-gender marriages, "their marriage would be invalid," the former Pennsylvania senator said Dec. 30 in an NBC News interview. "We can't have 50 different marriage laws in this country," he said. "You have to have one marriage law." The comments didn't attract nearly as much attention as Santorum's recent invocation of his Catholic faith to denounce government support for birth control, prenatal testing and resource conservation - which, in the last case, he attributed to President Obama's "phony theology." But his declared intention to nullify past as wel...

Congratulations NY!

Congratulations to all the same-sex couples enjoying their first day of legal marriage in New York! The picture to the right is Niagara Falls all rainbowed up for the celebration. I believe the original picture is actually from Lance Bass's twitter account. Neat :) I'm getting some updates together for next month, I've got quite a few stories from events we've gone to this month.  Things include service submission (for D, not me) knife play and ropes (for me, not D) and exploring sexuality, etc etc etc. I'll get it together and make it happen.  I'd love some input for the next kiriban number and prize!  Also, readers, question me! I love talking about my own experiences but doesn't that get boring for y'all to read? Or no..? Anonymous questions can be sent to my email; eroticwetatomic@gmail.com

New York and Gay Marriage

Friday June 24th New York voted to allow same-sex marriages.  NY is now the largest state in the US to legally recognize same sex unions. Congratulations! Here is an article in it's full form from the New York Times.  Click here for the full article. Bolded sections below are my own adding.  This proves that politicians can have their personal beliefs but also do the right thing when it comes to their constituents and what the people want.         ALBANY — Lawmakers voted late Friday to legalize same-sex marriage , making New York the largest state where gay and lesbian couples will be able to wed and giving the national gay-rights movement new momentum from the state where it was born.        The marriage bill, whose fate was uncertain until moments before the vote, was approved 33 to 29 in a packed but hushed Senate chamber. Four members of the Republican majority joined all but one Democrat...

Rapture Cookies for all!

Screen shot from American Dad So... it's the 22nd and we're all still here. Tisk tisk tisk Harold, I'm pretty sure it's a sin in your ridiculous religion to lie about the coming of Jesus. Now Harold Camping has run off. Probably out of shame or perhaps he just wants us to think he was the only one raptured... I'm not buying your bullshit Harold, because it doesn't pass the bullshit test. If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck and walks like a duck, you can be sure that you're a crock pot. I made rapture cookies from regular chocolate chip cookies, you are all welcome to one, or four, since you SURVIVED THE RAPTURE! :D And, if you like commemorative t-shirts, you will love these: Rapture Survivalware .

It's OK to swing!

I will be the first person to admit swinging is not for every person or every relationship.  Any relationship I was involved in before D would not have been a relationship where swinging would have worked--That's ok! Swinging is a MAGNIFIER. This means that if your relationship is stable, swinging may enhance it. If your relationship is not stable, swinging will destroy it.  There are a hundred and one reasons that someone would decide not to swing. Originally, I was not a swinger.  I had some moral implications and personal implications I had to figure out before I was able to accept the fact that this is something normal people do, and it's ok if I do it too. I've basically been an atheist since I was 7, so I'm not entirely sure if one thing (religious orientation) and swinging (sexual lifestyle) have anything to do with each other.  Most of the swingers D and I know are religious in some way, most of them are actually Pagan or Wiccan, but we have spoken to...
