God Damnit Conservatives

Another article detailing the reasons we can't have nice things. This article was originally posted by the Daily Kos. The link above will link you to the full article.

You really can't even make this shit up. Seriously.

Conservatives suggest defeating birth control by calling it 'abortion.'

No, really.

At CPAC, some top conservative minds (stay with me here) got together to try to decide how to defeat the previously not terribly controversial law mandating insurance cover contraception. Their conclusion? Conservatives should just lie about it:

Stop talking about birth control. That was the key message from some of the most prominent leaders of America’s anti-abortion movement, speaking Friday at the Conservative Political Action Conference. During a talk on how to advance the movement through messaging, an all-female panel discussed the Obama administration’s birth-control-coverage mandate and suggested that the best way to defeat it is by calling it an “abortion mandate.”
Well, of course. Birth control is quite popular with the public, even among Catholics whose bishops are very, very angry about it. So if you're going to fight a law that's popular and uncontroversial, of course the thing to do is just make shit up wholesale. Hey, let's call it "abortion" instead! Let's call it an "abortion mandate"! Yeah, that's the ticket. Not quite as catchy as "baby death panels" but trust us, we'll work on it.

So soon no doubt we'll be hearing a carefully polished message from the conservative brain trust, who will be making the case that The Pill is really preemptive abortion, and that pretty much everything else is also preemptive abortion, and why do you hate Jesus by allowing time-travel abortions? If they even bother to make that argument, that is: More likely, they'll just lie outright and say Obama is trying to force people to have abortions, period.

The good news is that they recognize they're fighting a losing battle here. America is just fine with birth control, birth control isn't going anywhere, and if a few old men in funny hats want to get uptight about that then we'll shuffle some money around so they can keep feeling better about themselves. The bad news is, as usual, that now that they've recognized they're on the losing side of the issue, they're now at work trying to figure out how to best lie about it to the public. Conservatism!

Listen, abortion sucks any way you look at it. Abortion is not birth control. Birth control and pregnancy prevention are things that...yano, prevent pregnancy. Just because some people believe abortion is a sin doesn't mean you can force people to have offspring they have no desire to have. Fuck anyone that will "force" me to keep a pregnancy i have no intention of carrying to term. The article above details the horrendous lengths that religious conservatives will go through to push their religious idealized bullshit upon the general population.

Let me spell this out for you, WOMEN. Religious conservatives want to legislate your ability to have sex with no biological consequences. Religious conservatives are not pro-life. Religious conservatives are ANTI WOMEN.

Again. RELIGIOUS CONSERVATIVES ARE ANTI WOMEN.  They are anti women, anti women's rights, anti the right for you to be able to have the sex you want to have.

If you're in the US, please make sure you are aware of your elected representatives opinions on sex! If you don't agree with them, DON'T ELECT THEM. Don't give them money. Write them letters. Call them. Tell them how they do not represent YOU and your values. You and your rights. You and your BODY.

Do not let the government get away with this bigoted anti women bullshit.

How You Can Help: some suggestions to make a difference in light of what has been going on in the scene.

*Note this was originally written January 2018, and was based on writings on fetlife.com at the time. *  How you can help instead of harm. A few key points to countering abuse, shitty behavior and making the scene (and the world) a better place. Discussions, writings upon writings upon writings on K&P, tears, heartfelt conversations, getting anxious on twitter (that last one is me), but what can we do to attempt to make improvements? Call out your friends. It doesn’t have to be publicly and it doesn’t have to be loudly. But if you see your friend do something shitty, or say something then. Something as simple as “Wow, that was shitty, why would you say that?” or “That wasn’t nice, you shouldn’t say that or do that to someone.” Will go a long way. It allows the group of people you’re in to also feel compelled to speak up. The bystander effect is real. When I started calling out the behavior of my relatives at holiday gatherings, shit got a lot better for everyone. And it ...

Obligatory New Years Posting

Stopping by the blog briefly to wish all my readers a safe, happy New Year.  Don't drink and drive folks, just get trashed at home where you can't hurt anything except the coffee table.  I am so honored to be able to share my journey with you all.  I'm looking forward to talking and sharing more stories and pictures with you all next year.

I can't remember how to get out of this cage.

I just got done crying, because I got looped into an angry masturbation session, jacking it to things I shouldn't have been looking at [not a good bunch of erotica for me to read] anyway, and then needed to cum twice. I wanted to feel something other than the way I've been feeling for the past month. I should be asleep because I took the horse tranquilizer over an hour ago. It's hard. I've had "problems" for 4 weeks and I'm super fucking done with it. I can't imagine how people live like this. I'm a poor chronic pain candidate. Exceptionally poor. For those of you catching up: car accident, seatbelt failure, whiplash [pretty gnarly] and a much more severe concussion than first presented. I can generally deal with the body pain. As long as it's not whatever happened to me on a week ago. Where the pain was so bad both myself and my doctor feared I'd torn my rotator cuff entirely. I suddenly couldn't lift my right arm above my he...
