A Step into kink: Experiencing Shibari

So, on rapture da--I mean D's birthday (May 21st) we talked about what he wanted to do for his birthday, and anything he wanted (basically) was up on the table.  Since we were unable to find another girl for a FMF threesome (what we did for him last year for his birthday) he found a kink event at a club in one of the major metro cities near us that he wanted to go to.

I'm confident when i want to be, but I'm incredibly nervous when I'm meeting new partners to getting into new sexual exploits.  We walked up to the door and I bumped into the trash can when D rang the doorbell, both made really loud noises which scared the shit out of me. At least he thought it was funny.

We met a lot of wonderful people (but for the sake of anonymity I won't go into descriptions).  We were showed around to the different areas of the club and spoke to several different people about how they came to the club and how long they've been into the BDSM lifestyle. The club had several different play areas including a cross, suspension area, medical play area, places to watch, places to tie, a sex swing and more stuff! It was awesome.

We had mentioned in passing that it was D's birthday, and he ended up with some birthday floggings (from R and from a very hot  woman whose name I don't think I got, but she was fantastic, she did herself up in the most wonderful rope work).  I has also mentioned that I kind of wanted to try some rope play. A little while later the most gracious R showed up and asked me if I wanted to be tied up this evening.  I agreed and we toddled off to the suspension area.  I'm not claustrophobic, but I'm uncomfortable being bound fully. I prefer to keep my hands and feet free (you know, for running away).  R made me a chest harness and a leg harness and then suspended me for about 4 and a half seconds. I have issues with having my center of gravity moved around so suspension, I think, is not for me.  I would be willing to try a different type or position though just to make absolutely sure.  I did enjoy being tied up though.

There was nothing painful about being tied, but it did leave marks.  It's kind of erotic to have marks like these and not have to go through excruciating pain to get them.  Pain, flogging, etc is not my thing (believe me, I've tried) so I had just negated myself to one of those people who wouldn't get into BDSM. It was nice to find something I could participate in as well.

Try it and see as long as you can find someone with the know-how and experience.  Shibari and any kind of rope or bondage play can be dangerous if you are bound by someone who does not know what they are doing. Try to find a rope club or a BDSM club in your area.

The deep end

Warning: edge play of all varieties mentioned. If it isn't your thing, i'd suggest turning back now. I think it's time i've accepted a few labels for myself; masochist, edge player, sick-fuck. Sexual guilt is actually something i've never dealt with before. I've always been very "on my own terms." I lost my virginity at 17 to a boy i really loved because we decided it was a good time for us (he was a virgin too, and a year younger than me). It was a good experience and we were together for a long time but i knew it wouldn't be forever. We're still friends to this day, he's pretty cool. I went through a "slut phase" in college because i felt like it and wanted to. My sexual partners (at the time) were all really cool about it. I had my first MFM threesome and OTHER people were so mad! How dare i let them take advantage of me! ...Excuse me? It was my fucking idea. We were sitting in a hot tub, chilling out (we may have been dr...

Dear Virginia, Fuck You.

The state of Virginia is now aloud to discriminate against gays and other potential adopters as well as six other characteristics. Read the full article from the washington blade here . The Virginia State Board of Social Services voted 5 to 1 on Wednesday to allow licensed adoption agencies to refuse to approve adoptions or foster parents based solely on a would-be parent’s sexual orientation as well as six other characteristics.   The board took that action by rejecting for the second time this year an adoption related rule change first drafted in 2009 by state social services officials under former Governor Tim Kaine.   The proposed change called for banning discrimination in the state’s adoption and foster care system solely because of someone’s sexual orientation, religion, age, gender, disability, political beliefs, or family status.   Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and the state’s controversial attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli, who took office...

Public Service Announcement: 4th of July

For those of you in the United States, a major holiday is coming up; Independence Day. Please remember to drink responsibly, sleep somewhere if you have to. DUI's aren't worth it.  Also please remember to make sure noise-reactive pets are locked up safe and sound.  Leash slips and escapees because of firework scares are frequent for this holiday.  Animals get scared and bolt, going much farther than they normally would because of fear.  Animals generally don't know the way back home.  If you've got a noise-reactive animal you're worried about schedule a vet appointment for some sedatives or try one of the products on the market made for this very issue; the thunder vest. We'll be back to your regularly scheduled sex commentary on Tuesday. Have a good holiday everyone!
